Dame Rosemary Butler AM Chair Business Committee National Assembly for Wales
|
Dear Rosemary,
On 13 January 2016 I laid a Legislative Consent Memorandum for the Access to Medical Treatments (Innovation) Bill which was considered by Business Committee on 19 January.
Following considerable debate at Committee stage in the House of Commons, I understand that Chris Heaton-Harris MP, the sponsor of this Private Member’s Bill, reviewed his position and tabled amendments to the Bill at Report Stage which remove those clauses concerning clinical negligence (clauses 3 and 4). These amendments have now been agreed.
The LCM related to the content of clauses 3 and 4. It is therefore no longer relevant and consideration by the Assembly is not required at this time.
I am copying this letter to Mr David Rees AM, Chair of the Health and Social Care Committee.
Best wishes

Mark Drakeford AC / AM
